Born into a family of professors, writers and poets, Atima Mankotia was naturally inclined towards literary pursuits after completing her graduation and post graduation in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, where she was also awarded the Gold Medal for her Masters in Ancient Indian History. She worked as an editor for print, publishing and electronic media in some of the well-known media houses for several years before being bitten by the corporate bug that saw her complete her MBA in HR from XLRI, Jamshedpur and move into the field of Human Resources and Communication. The literary side niggled and soon triumphed with her taking a sabbatical to write, something she enjoyed so much that she is seriously mulling on the pleasures of being a full-time writer, her mind constantly buzzing with ideas and plots for her next book. Passionate about music, Atima has scripted and presented musical theatre on legendary Bollywood music composers and filmmakers and has also travelled widely to catch live shows of Jethro Tull, Neil Young, Yes, Eric Clapton and others. A fitness lover, she is a Reebok-trained aerobics instructor who regularly gyms, dances the Zumba, swims and plays golf. Addicted to fiction, she reads voraciously with thrillers, murder mysteries and supernatural phenomenon being her favourite genres. An avid traveller, she enjoys exploring exciting new places. She lives in New Delhi with her husband and has a daughter and a son.
